Packers vs. Bears Week 9 Game Predictions from AllGreenBayPackers.com

GAME PREDICTIONS
Week 9: Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears
Name Record To-Date This Week’s Pick Score Prediction
Kris Burke 4-3 Green Bay Packers 27-14
No Jay Cutler, but the Packers will still need to account for Brandon Marshall. The Bears defense, meanwhile, is in shambles and will struggled containing the Packers’ balanced attack.
“Jersey” Al Bracco 5-2 Green Bay Packers 27-17
The Bears’ injuries trump the Packers’ injuries – what I had previously believed would be a dead-even game turns into a fairly comfortable win for Green Bay.
Adam Czech 6-1 Green Bay Packers 31-17
Keep taking away weapons from Aaron Rodgers and he keeps getting better. Will he keep it up against the Bears? I think so, and it will lead to another divisional win for the Packers.
Marques Eversoll 6-1 Green Bay Packers 34-13
This isn’t an Urlacher-in-his-prime kind of Bears defense. Chicago’s secondary is solid, but the front seven is weak, which means Eddie Lacy is in store for a really big day. The Packers won’t overlook the Cutler-less Bears, and when it’s all said and done, this will be another relatively easy divisional win for the Packers in primetime.
Thomas Hobbes 5-2 Green Bay Packers 27-16
No Jay Cutler and no Lance Briggs can only be a good thing, but with two weeks to install some unscouted looks and get Josh McCown ready and I don’t see this as a easy game.  However, if the Packers can be as methodical against the Bears as they were against the Vikings last week and I don’t think the Bears can keep trading punches with the Packers.
Cory Jennerjohn 6-1 Green Bay Packers 35-13
Chicago’s lynchpins on offense and defense — Jay Cutler and Lance Briggs — will be missed severely. Two weeks ago, the Bears allowed 209 yards rushing to Washington, so expect Eddie Lacy to punish the Chicago defense with his physical style. Aaron Rodgers has proven that it doesn’t matter who the receivers are, he’s still going to put up big numbers.
Jason Perone 6-1 Green Bay Packers  31-13
No way the Packers don’t win this one and while I’m calling for a big spread, it’s the defense that will have its day.  With the secondary in full force, yards will come at a premium for Bears receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.  Run defense is stout and Green Bay has another good day on the ground.  Packers win their seventh straight against the Bears.
Chad Toporski 5-2 Green Bay Packers 45-24
I expect the Packers offense to roll against a suspect Bears defense on Monday night. The Bears are not without their own offensive weapons, but Capers will shut down Forte and force McCown to win through the air. He won’t be able to get it done without some costly mistakes, though.

I think the Packers win, and probably relatively easy. But I think this is the game where we’ll miss Finley the most. Their corners are very good but their linebackers and safeties can be had. My hope is that this is the game where Quarless (or Bostick or Stoneburner) show Packers Nation why we didn’t need to give up a good draft pick for Tony Gonzalez. Don’t need to be great, especially when our other receivers come back, but good enough where teams can’t crowd the receivers.

Also, does anyone else out there think Boykin might end up playing Jones off the roster? I’ve been a fan of Jones since the Broncos game in 2007, but we might not be able to afford him after this season. It’s getting harder and harder to tell who’s truly special and who’s just a “system receiver” with Rodgers under center and MM coaching. And yes, I think MM deserves a lot of merit in this (unless someone switched out Matt Flynn with someone else when he left the Pack).

I’ve been saying that since end of last season. Jones is a good receiver made better by those around him. He and Boykin share very similar traits. Boykin is showing he’s ready for a bigger role in the offense. I doubt that Thompson will show any interest in bringing Jones back next year.

I think it really depends on the market Jones gets. If he gets the cold shoulder again in free agency, you don’t think Thompson would resign him? At this point, I think unfortunately Jones has been labeled as a product of Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense and not as a great wide receiver in his own right (which may or may not be true). Teams will look at how well the no-name wide receivers are doing like Boykin and they’ll also look at Greg Jennings’ struggles in Minnesota and probably shy away somewhat.

He’ll want to save the few million to resign others. I don’t think there much difference between Jones and Boykin. Save the 4M or whatever for others IMO.

I see a big victory for the Packers on Monday night , providing
    1. No turnovers
    2. Eliminate dumb penalties
    3. Stop Forte
    4. Protect Rodgers
    5. No easy TD’s on returns or during garbage time.

The Packers offense should be able to set the tempo for this game and control TOP with the ground game.
They should not underestimate Mcgown or the Bears receiving corps. That said, I like the Pack, 34-16

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 4 Thumb down 3

Never underestimate a team coming off its bye. Much closer than people anticipate. Packers 24-21.

I agree with this list. Add Bears’ use of the tight end early in the game. If GB is ready, and jams TE from coming off blocks…then McGone never gets comfortable. Their TE and Forte on short passes would be the most obvious bears’ strategy….so I am sure Pack is ready for it. You guys are ready, aren’t you? Ok. Silence is a good sign they’re ready.

Packers will have their hands full with this one. It’s a division game against a foe coming off their bye. I hope MM and Co. get creative with the game plan and make all the Bears prep immaterial. Oh, and Pack fans at Lambeau – let’s make some noise, OK?

Trestman realizes he has nothing to lose and will have McCown take multiple shot plays. Packers back end has to maintain cover discipline because Marshall and Jeffries and their TE are all good, big and fast targets. And Devin Hester has to be licking his chops when he looks at film of the Pack’s KO coverage.

I see this as a much harder fought win than people think with Pack coming out on top 24-21.
