Packers Santa

Good news, folks; it seems that Packers Santa has returned to Green Bay for the third straight year.

In 2010, Packers Santa and I took ride on his sleigh and delivered a bag of coal to Mike McCarthy. They had lost two games in a row and three out of their last four. The message came through loud and clear and the Packers went on a six game winning streak that ended with a Super Bowl win over the Steelers in Dallas. Thanks again Santa!

In 2011, the Packers had just had their 19-game winning streak ended by the Chiefs. Packers Santa presented the Packers with some blank paper, in hopes that starting with a clean sheet would propel the Packers on a new winning streak.  Once again, Packers Santa helped the Packers right the ship, as they went out and won their next two games. Unfortunately, the Packers then met their Waterloo against the Giants in the playoffs.

In 2012, Packers Santa didn’t feel the need to send any messages. Instead, he thought it would be better to just reward the Packers for all their hard fought wins with a week off to rest. The Packers have won four in a row and nine of their last ten.  So Packers Santa pulled a few strings and arranged for the Seahawks (how ironic) to beat the 49ers, vaulting the Packers into the position of second seed and a first round playoff bye.  Read more... Packers Santa

Last year at this time, Packers Santa and I traveled to Green Bay to deliver a bag of coal to Mike McCarthy. You see, Packers Santa always knows if they’ve been bad or good. Last year around Christmas time, the Packers were coming off of two straight losses and had lost three out of their last four games.

The bag of coal must have gotten the message through because the Packers beat the Giants that week and hadn’t lost a game since… until last week.

Now, we’re not about to give McCarthy a bag of coal over one loss, but I’ve discussed this with Packers Santa, and we’ve decided on this little message:

He will be bringing all of the Packers a clean sheet of paper. Something to record their next winning streak on…

As the Packers embark on this new journey towards a second straight Super Bowl, I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to everyone that reads, comments and frequents this site. It’s a tremendous amount of fun hanging out with everyone here, and truthfully, it’s you, the reader and your participation and feedback that makes all of this hard work worthwhile.

So on behalf of all the writers here on AllGreenbayPackers.com,  I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah or the best of whatever holiday you celebrate. Well, Packers Santa just gave me a sleigh ride home after we delivered our bag of coal to Mike McCarthy. But now that my not-so-subtle message has been sent, it’s time to get fully behind the Green Bay Packers and root them on to victory this Sunday against the New York Giants.

Regardless of our opinions, thoughts and beliefs about the 2010 Packers, it’s time to throw them all out the window and root like HELL for the Packers. Those of you at the game, we’ll be watching YOU and listening for YOU. Be LOUD and PROUD. Make things difficult for Eli and the Giants offense.  Be that 12th man and cheer the Packers on to victory.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who comes here to read and/or comment. Your participation is what makes this whole madcap endeavor worthwhile to me.  May you all have the safest and happiest of Holiday times with family and friends. And may Santa bring you a Packers win on Sunday.
